Megan E. Burns

Megan Burns is the Founder and Managing Director of Operations Strategy Consulting, LLC. She has more than 15 years of industrial engineering and supply chain management experience. She has spoken at industry conferences and her articles have appeared in both regional and national publications. Outside Operations Strategy, Megan is an instructor of operational excellence at the Pennsylvania State University – New Kensington and the Westmoreland County Community College and a guest lecturer at Duquesne University. She has worked with companies throughout North America and in 14 different countries.

Megan began her career as a Plant Engineer with GE Transportation Systems. During her tenure with GE, she held various operations management positions, including managing a 65,000 square foot manufacturing facility with 175 employees. Megan has several years of global source development experience and has negotiated multi-million dollar contracts. Her career also includes positions with Peterson Brothers, Inc. and Bombardier.

Megan holds a B.S.M.E. from Gannon University (Erie, PA) and an MBA from The Pennsylvania State University. She is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.). She can be reached at Megan@OperationsStrategyLLC.com.

Ed Burns

Ed Burns is the head of Operations Strategy’s Warehousing and Inventory Control service line. He has more than 15 years of experience in the manufacturing and distribution industries. He specializes in receiving processes, inventory management, and warehouse operations.

Prior to joining Operations Strategy, Ed was the Director of US Production and Site Operations for Spreadshirt, Inc. In his first year, Ed helped expand production capacity and processes. The company experienced 80% growth over the previous year and 50% growth in his second year.  Ed also held various operations management positions with GE Supply, including managing a $70M kitting operation in conjunction with GE Transportation Systems in Erie, Pennsylvania.  Ed has managed numerous warehouse operations for GE Supply and Ferguson Enterprises.  His career also includes positions with Steris Inc., and Moonlight Mushrooms.

Sara Goncus

Sara is a consultant and training with Operations Strategy Consulting, LLC. She focuses on helping clients improve their processes and achieve operational excellence.

Prior to joining Operations Strategy, Sara worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer for Lockheed Martin at Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico. While working under Lockheed’s ATARS Contract, she established a series of Standard Operating Procedures for the base and coordinated the Audit and Corrective Action Program. Sara also participated in several Lean and Six Sigma initiatives that resulted in significant time and cost savings for both the contract and the customer. Sara also held positions with Westinghouse.

Sara holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, PA) and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She can be contacted at Sara@OperationsStrategyLLC.com.


Tim Vesonder, PhD

Dr. Tim Vesonder leads all of Operations Strategy’s ISO projects. Dr. Vesonder began his consulting career in 1982 after teaching high school and college for 15 years.

Currently, he supports companies pursuing ISO 9001 and TS 16949 registration; internal auditing services. He also delivers custom supervisory development programs to improve communications and increase productivity. Dr. Vesonder also provides strategic planning assistance.

Dr. Vesonder has been a member of the American Society for Quality since 1993. For the Youngstown-Warren Section of ASQ, he served as newsletter editor and website manager for several years.
